My Favorite Spa

I returned just recently from a week-long visit with my mom in Dayton, Washington. We call her place our favorite spa. We sleep good, eat great and relax.
Mom is famous in our family for her homemade bread. She has been making brioche dough lately and 3 out of my 7 mornings I awoke to fresh, hot beignets. Oh. My. Goodness.
We tried to get artsy with our shot. I juiced some organic blood oranges and we had that with champagne with our light as air pastries. -- Lisa

I love beignets and up until now we made them from a boxed mix straight from that famous coffee haunt in New Orleans. Must find a recipe for brioche I guess. Yum!

So how do the REST of us make reservations at The Spa?

I had my first beignets in Calif. a few months ago...fabulous!!! Does your mom make them from scratch? My mouth is watering!

I grew up in Walla Walla--just a stone's throw from Dayton. My-oh-my how things have changed since I was a little girl . . . but comfort food and a happy, healthy lifestyle resonate in my mind. Life is experienced one sweet moment to the next . . . glad yours was especially sweet!

Hi Lisa,
My sister has lived in Dayton for years. She takes care of a lady named Jean, who has MS...your mom sounds like a keeper..
Have a great Easter
