Claire

This little lady is the wonderful reason I have been missing from blogland the last week. Our first grandbaby, Claire, was born to our oldest son Carlos and his wife Casey on June 9. I got home from Farm Chicks, repacked my suitcase, and headed to Texas with Raoul. We arrived when she was just two days old.

When I wasn't filling my family up with home cooked meals, this is what I did for five days. I tried my best not to doze because I didn't want to miss a moment of time soaking up every snuggle, peep and squeak from her.

Claire gained a whole pound while we were there, had her first bath and did her first art project! Here I am dabbing some white paint on the bottom of her feet for this foot prints picture.

Every grandma I spoke with before her birth told me it would be better than I could ever imagine to meet this child. They weren't exaggerating. It was pure happiness!

She is Darling!! And I love the name. I love the fact that she's "crafting" already!

Now you know why "those" other women wear the puffy sweatshirts that say, "I'm a Grandma." Feels a bit, I bet, like your the first to ever feel this way!

Enjoy,
Shell

Congrats! She is lovely! I just wanted to stop by and say hi! I am enjoying my little blue handled cart from the Farm Chicks show! I've named her Lulu and I'm going to make a liner for her so I can haul her to the farmers market with me! :) Thanks so much! Your booth was amazing and you gals are so much fun!!!
Hugs,
Renee

Thanks to all of you for your joyful comments about our new grandbaby!

The footprints painting was my daughter-in-law Casey's brainchild. She did the background with their footprints, and there is another one with handprints. So Claire's footprints went on top of her parents. The handprints will wait for a future time.

I'll keep you posted on any future birdbath creations. In the meantime, I am resisting the puffy Grandma sweatshirts. Although I did receive a fab vintage rhinestone diaper pin brooch, and bought a swell soldered glass necklace from Krys Kirkpatrick that says baby's laughter. So I definitely have the grandma jewelry thing going on!
